Specialized Dementia Care

For residents with impaired memory, Sebo’s Specialized Dementia Services program makes life enjoyable again. Sebo’s country atmosphere is reflected by the names of our units, Daisy and Bakersfield Lanes, describes a disease progression based on how the care staff understands that everything with our elders at some point is a new, fresh and something to do for everyone at their own pace everyday. With dignity and patience, care is provided by specially trained staff in Alzheimer’s and Dementia best practices. Staff use information about each resident’s past lifestyle, career, family, hobbies and interests to develop personalized activities that make them feel comfortable.

Trained Staff

Sebo’s staff members are specially trained to understand, communicate and interact with memory-impaired individuals, developing warm relationships that enhance residents’ comfort and quality of life. Staff deliver care with exceptional patience, compassion and skill, within an environment designed to be soothing and home-like.

Specialized Activities

Sebo’s activities programs at our long-term care facilities utilize an in-house adult day care approach. Residents in day and evening programs participate according to their abilities. Benefits of Sebo’s programming include:

  • Reduced frustration, anxiety
  • Fewer behavior issues
  • Decrease in use of behavior-controlling medications
  • Weight management
  • Better quality of life

Security and Comfort

Sebo’s Secure Environments are offered on Daisy and Bakersfield Lanes. These secure environments offer safety and security for individuals with Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia who may be at risk for wandering. Security is enhanced both by the physical design of the Memory Care Unit and the activities and re-direction provided by Sebo’s long term well-trained staff. In addition, providing enclosed courtyards provides additional space safely enclosed for residents and family to use for leisure activities year round.
